January 2017 Newsletter
At Freeman Technology, we specialise in providing a range of unique powder characterisation solutions, supported by our commitment in applications development and R&D. In 2016, we received a positive reception from the powder handling community on the introduction of the Uniaxial Powder Tester (UPT), which was developed in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, DuPont and The Chemours Company. The UPT provides an easy-to-use tool at a highly competitive price, making reliable uniaxial testing commercially accessible. This launch, as well a number of other positive developments throughout the business, has ensured another successful year for Freeman Technology.
We also announced an exclusive worldwide distribution agreement with Lenterra. Lenterra also specialises in unique technology for bulk powder flow measurement, however their focus is inline real-time measurement via optical instrumentation. We are excited by the extended opportunities for process monitoring and control that working with Lenterra will allow us to deliver to our customers. We very much look forward to a highly productive partnership.
Furthermore, 2016 saw another year of record installations of the FT4 Powder Rheometer and we forged new partnerships in Italy and the Czech Republic, as well as expanding our team in China. This year’s developments will allow us to build and enhance our services further in 2017 and we wish our customers and partners the best for the coming year.
We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Apex Chromatography Pvt. Ltd. as our new exclusive distributor for India. Headquartered in Hyderabad, with offices in Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Goa, Apex has been providing instrumentation solutions in India for decades and will now supply products from the Freeman Technology range. This partnership will allow us to continue delivering high-quality support throughout the country.
A number of our customers have given feedback on their experiences of working with Freeman Technology and the FT4 Powder Rheometer®. Visit our website to learn how our customers are benefiting from our technology: www.freemantech.co.uk/_testimonials/.
We would also be very keen for more customers to share their success stories and detail how pivotal the FT4 Powder Rheometer has been in driving forward research and helping companies differentiate themselves from their competitors. If you would like to contribute to our testimonials page, please contact us on email@example.com.
One of the key points that we often discuss with customers is the fact that powders are not intrinsically ‘good’ or ‘bad’ but can be suited to different processes. As a result, we have long advocated an approach of correlating observed processing performance with a database of powder properties to establish which are most relevant, and consequently most reliable for equipment specification.
2016 brought new evidence of the value of this approach when HAVER&BOECKER, a leading developer and producer of screening and packing machines for the raw material processing industry, shared the benefits it has gained from characterising every powder encountered over the last ten years. The resulting database extends to over 20,000 entries and makes it straightforward for them to specify the best packing and processing solution. To learn more about this approach and how it can be implemented to optimise powder handling processes, read the full story here.
We would like to recognise the efforts of all our team who have helped us raise money for a number of charities during 2016. We raised over £7,000 throughout the year for charities including Tewkesbury Foodbank, Macmillan, Mind and Children In Need. Early in the year we became sponsors of Tewkesbury Foodbank, which tackles poverty and homelessness throughout our local area. We also took part in the annual Macmillan coffee morning and many of us completed a 10 mile hike for Mind. A conference speaker fee was donated to Children In Need and finally, a number of us completed the 10K Race for Life. Well done to all those who helped, competed or donated money throughout the year.
We are very much looking forward to 2017 and already have a busy event schedule throughout the coming year. We invite you to visit our booth at any of these events, where our team of specialists would welcome the opportunity to discuss your powder handling challenges and to demonstrate our powder characterisation technology. Our Application Specialists are also available all year round so please do not hesitate to get in touch.
