Happy New Year
By Tim Freeman
I have to confess that I’ve left conventional powders behind over the past few days, searching out instead powdered snow, in pursuit of a little fresh air and exercise. A great way to start 2012 and good preparation for a very exciting and busy time ahead where the focus most definitely will be powders of a more industrially important variety.
2011 was a momentous year for Freeman Technology. Having completed our move last August to larger commercial and manufacturing headquarters in the UK, we are now truly at home here. More to the point we are capitalising on the freedom the new building provides to expand our applications support, R&D capabilities and customer service teams, constantly developing and improving upon the service we deliver. This is especially important as we now have customers all around the world, a growing distributor network and plans to expand our direct operations in a number of territories – and I’m delighted to say that we have an expert team at your service here in Tewkesbury.
So what will 2012 bring?
Continued development of the FT4 Powder Rheometer and its applications will see us releasing new software versions. Outputs from our own research programmes will see us adding to our applications knowledge base and extending our collection of white papers, this year covering topics such as the effects of humidity on powder properties and the impact of electrostatics. There will be new additions to the team, in the UK, the US and elsewhere, and more distributors coming on board.
With Interphex, PTXi and ACHEMA all coming up in the first half of 2012, and shows and conferences in Asia and elsewhere, we’re looking forward to having the opportunity to discuss powder testing with people from all sectors of the powder processing industries.
Finally, I’d like to wish everyone a very successful year ahead!
