Application Specialist, UK based for European market

Freeman Technology supplies instruments for measuring the flow properties of powders. Our markets are worldwide and include many industrial sectors such as pharmaceutical, chemical, food, toners, powder coatings and cosmetics. We are a world leader in our instrumentation sector and winners of the Queens Award for Enterprise – Innovation 2007.

The continuing growth of our sales into Europe, US and Japan and our plans for other major world markets has created the need for many new staff including an Application Specialist for the European market – UK based but with regular travel into Europe.

The role:

The role will suit someone with experience in selling high value analytical laboratory equipment involving complex measurement and analysis. An important part of the role is the pre-sales and after sales communications with clients often involving detailed discussions of material characteristics in relation to the clients processing issues. Good communication skills are therefore very important.

Initially the role will be office based during the initial extensive training period.

Qualifications, experience and training:

Experience with powder characterisation is not expected, but would be an advantage. Full training will be provided by the company. The key requirements are:

  • Good science or engineering degree
  • Track record in technical sales
  • Enthusiasm to be part of a rapidly growing company
  • Enjoyment of communicating complex information
  • Highly personable, confident and enthusiastic personality
  • Enjoy travelling

Detailed responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to sales enquiries from Europe, including the UK and Ireland.
  • Generating enquiries pro-actively
  • Achieving the annual sales target
  • Installing our instrumentation and training the customer
  • Providing an excellent standard of pre-sales and post sales support
  • Attending exhibitions and conferences in Europe
  • Visiting clients and being away from the office one or two days/week on average
