Application Specialist - office based - customer support
Freeman Technology supplies instruments for measuring the flow properties of powders. Our markets are worldwide and include many industrial sectors such as pharmaceutical, chemical, food, toners, powder coatings and cosmetics. We are a world leader in our instrumentation sector and winners of the Queens Award for Enterprise – Innovation 2007.
The continuing growth of our sales into Europe, US and Japan and our plans for other major world markets has created the need for many new staff including an Application Specialist for customer support worldwide.
The role:
The role will suit someone with experience of customer support or sales of high value analytical laboratory equipment involving complex measurement and analysis. This role requires after sales communications with clients often involving detailed discussions of material characteristics in relation to the clients processing issues. Good communication skills are therefore very important.
The role will be office based in the UK Head Office but may involve occasional travel abroad.
Qualifications, experience and training:
Experience with powder characterisation is not expected, but would be an advantage. Full training will be provided by the company. The key requirements are:
- Good science or engineering degree
- Experience of technical sales or customer support relating to complex analytical equipment
- Enthusiasm to be part of a rapidly growing company
- Excellent communicator who enjoys helping customers and finding solutions
- Highly personable, confident and enthusiastic personality
Detailed responsibilities will include:
- Responding to enquiries from customers worldwide.
- Providing an excellent standard of post sales support
- Visiting customers occasionally
- Occasional visits to customer to install an instrument and train the customer
- Evaluating customer materials and developing special testing methodologies
- Attending exhibitions and conferences in Europe
