Experts from Freeman Technology will be explaining how multifaceted powder characterisation and dynamic powder testing can support better powder handling at two very different UK events in June and July 2013.
The company’s attendance at ‘Compaction Simulation Forum 2013’ (03 June , Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge) and ‘The International Conference on Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing’ (09 July, The Nottingham Belfry, Nottingham) reflects the growing need for comprehensive powder characterisation in both traditional and emerging industries. Attendees will be able to catch a presentation or simply ask one of the Freeman Technology team for expert advice on how to characterise their powders.
Freeman Technology’s Operations Manager Jamie Clayton will be presenting new research at the compaction simulation conference, demonstrating how the FT4 Powder Rheometer® has been used successfully to investigate and rationalise die filling performance. A key feature of the instrument is its ability to quantify flow under forced and unconfined conditions. This enables the generation of insightful data for processes such as die filling where both of these conditions apply, at different stages.
July’s conference on Additive Manufacturing and 3D printing provides an opportunity to see the FT4 Powder Rheometer in action and learn more about how it supports layer-based technology researchers in monitoring and optimising powder performance for emerging 3D printing techniques. These applications demand exceptionally close control of powder behaviour making it valuable to access the reproducible and relevant powder testing that the FT4 provides.
