Our speakers:

Dr Guy Stimpson


Guy Stimpson is an Applications Specialist at Freeman Technology. After studying Astrophysics at Prifysgol Aberystwyth University, UK, he progressed to postgraduate study at the University of Warwick, where his MSc and PhD concerned the optically detected magnetic resonance of nitrogen vacancy centres in nanodiamond powders for magnetocardiography, quantum information processing and fundamental physics research.

Dr Amalia Thomas


Amalia Thomas is the Senior R&D Officer at Freeman Technology. Obtaining her MSc in Physics at UNCBPA, Argentina, she later completed her PhD in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge (2019), specialising in dense granular free-surface flow rheology and size segregation.


Dr Katrina Brockbank


Katrina Brockbank is the Head of Laboratory and Powder Technologist at Freeman Technology. Katrina has a doctorate in Powder Flow Characterisation from the University of Bradford. While completing her thesis she also undertook several projects for the Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation including pharmaceutical formulation. In addition to her field of study she is also familiar with solid state characterisation methods including DSC, TGA and DVS.
